32They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us as He spoke with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” 33And they got up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, gathered together 34and saying, “The Lord has indeed risen and has appeared to Simon!” 35Then the two told what had happened on the road, and how they had recognized Jesus in the breaking of the bread. 36While they were describing these events, Jesus Himself stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.”
